created for a photographer client in south-east london, the 'frame house' by british practice carl turner architects incorporates
cinematic experiences by manipulating light. bordered with structures on two sides, natural daylight enters solely through
the entry elevation. the dwelling is named for its concrete structural framework and for the strategic window views
to the urban environment. the site's small footprint divides internal functions within four stories, placing living spaces
on the upper levels and culminating with a roof garden. the flexible programming and elevator shaft will allow the building
to grow two levels as necessary in the future.

the north-facing facade of frameless, structural glass overlooks the street. an industrial material palette consists of cast-in place
concrete partitions and polished concrete floors. softened with warm walnut doors along the perimeter wall, theses sliding elements
maximize light. a third floor courtyard near the rear provides access to a roof terrace while introducing additional light.
