austrian practice daniel fugenschuh architekt has completed 'office under the garden', a new underground
workspace for the atelier in innsbruck, austria. an annex project located in the garden of a townhouse
which housed the office before, the design utilizes the natural slope of the plot to seamlessly integrate
the building into the land.

inserted into the edge of a south-facing slope, the office features a fully-glazed elevation which
looks out on to the road. the presence of the stone retaining wall is maintained by incorporating
the flanking structure as an extension of the front facade. a slim elevated terrace provides outdoor space
by the street while a garage door to the left leads down to a small underground parking floor.

I love the way it is blended into the surroundings. A very interesting design, except for that last outside step; Be very careful!
