core77 points to a new research project from germany's kassel university exploring new combinations of building
materials, including concrete and membrane materials. the result is a light-weight and rigid structure which is
made from a concrete skeleton wrapped in a plastic membrane. the resulting shell can take a number of forms
including these geodesic domes.

we previously featured 'the concrete canvas' shelter which used a similar approach to create temporary
emergency housing. designed by engineering students peter brewin and will crawford, the concrete canvas
project has developed even further from when we first told you about it. check out their progress and their
