may is a big month for new york’s steven holl architects in scandinavia. the firm will be celebrating three big
milestones in the northern european region. monday marked the groundbreaking of the new knut hamsun center
located in hamaroy, norway; while, today was the 10th anniversary of the kiasma museum in helsinki, finland.
the month will finish with the ‘topping off’ of the award winning herning center of the arts in herning, denmark on
may 30th.

the knut hamsun center was first commissioned to steven holl architects in 1994 to celebrate the great norweigan
writer. the project is located above the arctic circle and set to be complete in late 2009.
