kauffman center for the performing arts by moshe safdie and associates



opening in 2010, the new kauffman center for the performing arts is being designed by
moshe safdie and associates. the new building is located in kansas city, missouri and will feature
two performance halls, on concert hall and a ballet opera house. the design is characterized
by the shell like forms of the exterior. the façade is clad in silvery stainless steel while the
front elevation is mainly composed of glass, revealing the interior. the large glass
atrium is strengthened by cables, which anchor the structure.
