zaha hadid proposal denied approval

zaha hadid’s extension proposal for the middle east centre in st. antony’s college in oxford
has been denied approval by the the commission for architecture and the built environment
(CABE). the building proposal was to be clad in white Corian®, bridging the two existing
victorian buildings. hadid came under fire from the commission who wrote in their report,
'it appears unfortunate to position the archive and reading room behind the large south
facing window; we wonder whether full sunlight and overheating could potentially compromise
the usability of this space.' in reaction, cpluv suggests ‘ultimately, no matter how cool the
intervention (and it is), architects need to be more responsible in responding to a site and its
contents.’

i agreed with her because with the current modern construction technology will might stop our creativity in creating new thing esp building. So this building is awesome

at least the architects have the oportunity to build they're proyects and responsible organisms controling them...here in south america are dark and hidden entities that tie the hands of architects trying to do things

lets face it.. zaha hadid is an absolutly amazing architect.. her truely unique style has put both her and modern architecture on the map.

i my opinion this beautiful piece of modern architecture is just a little much for the environment.. just seems overwhelming for some reason

agree/disagree?
