dutch firm mecanoo architects to build library of birmingham


delft university library designed by mecanoo architects, 1998

mecanoo architects have been chosen to design the new library of birmingham. located on
the east side of the city it will be developed over 30 000sqm, hoping to become the largest
library in europe. the building will provide state of the art facilities that will also include a theatre
and a 300 seat auditorium. the project is expected to cost approximately 375 million usd.
