another of the installations on show at the 2008 venice architecture biennale will be ‘prototyping the future: three houses for the subconscious’ by asymptote (hani rashid + lise anne couture). asymptote’s installation
features three compositions of their ‘motionscapes’ – ‘small, formal experiments – that investigate flux,
technology, and organicism‘. the modules are produced from fiberglass and finished with a high-gloss lacquer.
‘the works are shared exploration of formal elegance foun in objects of subjected to speed and movement
such as auto bodies and aerospace vehicles. coupled with this is the idea of interference and atmospheric
situations‘ HR
‘prototyping the future: three houses for the subconscious’ will be on show inside the arsenale as part of the exhibition ‘out there: architecture beyond building’ curated by aaron betsky.
