each faculty is distinguished by color coded signs

the corby business academy located in northamptonshire, UK opened today. designed by
foster + partners the academy consists of five faculties housed in individual atrium hubs.
a number of energy saving features such as wind catchers on roofs, angled walls that sit
below light wells and movement sensors that control light fixtures have been incorporated
into the building. the facade made from textured silver blockwork runs along the building's
length and consists of horizontal glazed roofs in each centre. all classrooms have glazed
walls looking into the atrium to provide maximum daylight. each area is distinguished by
color-coded signs, colored chairs and carpet. in addition to the five faculties an area
for disabled students has been created that consists of a hydrotherapy pool and a small
landscaped garden.
