israeli designer lior vaknin has sent us some images of his recently completed barber shop project.
the shop’s form is based on the idea of a hair strand. the designer used a hair’s curved geometry
and unique gravity defying properties to inform the interior mouldings. the idea was then carried out
through the entire space fitting it into the functions of the barbers. partitions separate the various
workspaces, creating a dynamic flow between the different stations. like a growing hair, the space
moves from the back, spilling out into the front.
