‘vauxhall sky garden’ by amin taha architects
the london based amin taha architects have now received approval for their ambitious project in london’s
nine elms opportunity area. the project was designed to explore dense living concepts that maintain a high
standard of living for residents. the vauxhall sky garden is the result of this investigation. the tower will stand
130m tall and feature 178 residential units, as well as office space. its stand-out feature is 2,500 square
meters of communal gardens, each three floors in height. the idea behind the gardens is to create a space
for social interaction foster micro communities. while the building is as dense as planning authorities allow,
it maintains a high level of social sustainability.

looks pretty grim. thought we'd moved past gated private community gardens?
indoor gardens often fall down within a few years after some plantings fail and the original landscape intent gets fuzzy and when the real cost of maintenance sinks in. I reckon it is populated with ficus and other tesco specials within a decade.
