OFIS architects: parisian student residence

OFIS architects have been selected as the winner in the competition to design a
new students residence in paris with 180 units. the new structure will be built in the french capital’s
19th district as part of an urban development plan. they are set to be complete by 2011
and will have a number of features to reduce power consumption. the residence measures
29.2 m high and is divided into two blocks, which are separated by a garden.
the floors are all filled with rooms, common areas and plenty of outdoor space, including terraces.
the designers have also emphasized natural light with large windows at the front of the building.
thermal insulation and soundproofing in the building are designed to be extra efficient and in line
with the city’s climate plan.
