‘barcelona biomedical research park’ by manel brullet & pinearq architecture studio
completed in 2006, this building has a surface area of 55,000 m2. it is located in barcelona in the barceloneta
neighbourhood on the seaside. designed by barcelona based manel brullet and pinearq architecture studio,
the strucutere stands 9 floors tall and has another 3 underground. from the outside the building has an
elliptical form, which is cut down the centre, flooding light into the centre. inside, the building is split up for
the many research labs and businesses that run within. there are also many common spaces including an
auditorium. the faНade is clad in wood louvers and the courtyard is all metal and glass and features exterior
walkways.
