the materials used in the exterior of the building blend in with the surrounding landscape

the current progress on the newly relocated sun valley center for the arts in ketchum, idaho,
by olson sundberg kundig allen (OSKA) architects will be a highly transparent space that is designed
to accommodate a range of uses. the 43, 000 square feet of facility space will include an auditorium,
classrooms and art project areas, as well as an underground parking.

the inspiration for the building comes from britiish artist, andy goldsworthy.
the working abilities of artists and curators morph the space in this project, blurring the lines between
architecture and art. green building strategies are key for this institution, which is situated within
a desert landscape. the sun, rain and snow will be resources from which energy will be harvested for the building.


the walls within the gallery spaces are not arranged in a typical format


the walls consist of large glass panels which allow sunlight to flood into the interior
