floating cottage by mos
this cottage is located on a tiny island in lake huron in ontario, canada and was designed by mos.
because the home is located in the middle of the lake, the designers created a steel platfom complete
with floating pontoons to allow the home is rise and fall along with the tide. the home was also built in
a peculiar way beacuase of its unique location. instead of building it on site, the home was built on
shore and towed out to its final spot and anchored in place. the home features a vernacular design
that is contemporized with a cedar screen on parts of the façade.
