frank gehry's new studio



while frank gehery is best known for his museums, concert halls and other public,
commercial and residential buildings, his studio’s last project is their own studio.
the firm is moving to a new and larger location in el segundo, california. with 160
employees, the studio will now occupy a large 70,000-square-foot industrial
complex that they will be upgrading and expanding. a large wooden trellis will
connect the main two buildings and similar shelters will be added above the main
entrances. the studio will also be adding a new building in the future, for now they
are adding skylights to the existing ones. construction will begin later this year and
will continue into 2010.
