the hotel loisium alsace by steven holl architects
steven holl architects has unveiled their latest project is collaboration with russli architects.
the hotel loisium alsace will be located in alsace, france and will consist of a hotel, spa and wine
center. the hotel will overlook the nearby vineyards and feature 100 rooms. the hotel_s design uses
tree-like arborescent structures to give order to the massive structure. this concept also creates a
variety of outdoor spaces which are sheltered, ideal for the spa and restaurant. the straucture will
be composed of a concrete frame covered in a blackened wood siding that blends into the nearby
forest. the event center is imagined as a flower branching of the tree structure of the main building.
it will feature red weathered steel cladding and is design with acoustics in mind. the hotel is set for
completion in 2011.
