broadway malyan: national heart centre singapore

broadway malyan will design the new state of the art national heart centre in singapore.
this project is part of the larger redevelopment of singapore general hospital’s outram campus.
it is designed in conjunction by the company’s singapore and weybridge offices
and in collaboration with ong & ong architects. the ten story building will feature active
hospital zones on the first six floors and administrative and research space on the upper four
levels. courtyards gardens and other open space is integrated throughout the building
to help speed up healing through natural light, ventilation and air purification. these common
spaces were also designed to encourage socializing and interaction among patients, staff
and visitors. the front façade of the building showcases these spaces, along with the cut-away
in the rear. the project is set to be complete in 2012.
