eric owen moss architects develop a building for the vienna university of economics and business’ new
campus. the building houses a number of academic departments, the school’s administration and a small
bakery. the building sits on the w2 lot in the vienna campus, next to the prater, a wooded area to the south.
the new building will be well connected to the other areas of the campus, linking with its existing trails and
pathways. the building itself is centred around two main columns, each housing a courtyard at its core.
one is covered and intended as the winter courtyard, while the other is open for summer use. the academic
programs surround the courtyards and rooftop decks top each column. the vertical elements of the building
tilt at times, converging with each other to entwine.
