spanish firm moho architects have sent us in images of their project - media island
wifi pavillion they designed for miguel hernandez university campus in alicante, spain.
the building performs as a virtual interface providing public internet access and a singular
meeting spot for students to hang out and relax .the star/shaped pavilion is divided into
5 different spaces surrounding a central courtyard that guaranties maximum natural lighting
and ventilation. the island raises 1.5 meters from the natural level of the ground though an
white gravel landscape, enforcing the identity and singularity of the pavilion as an 'object trouve'
in the middle of the campus.

this is really cool. seems totally out of place and in a random locale for a wifi island, but its quite ncie to look at.

Lovely!
Precioso!

looks nice, but I don't know about ventilation but the natural lighting is not very credible - I see neon light everywhere
dina 06.30.09
looks nice, but why you decided put it in so really random and strange place?

Very interesting concept for the function. Maximizes wall space. Perhaps a small window at the back right floor to ceiling and horizontally hight along the back exterior wall would more maximumize natural light and take advantage of wind direction to add to air flow. Variaions in roof angles would also be interesting and allow for additional floors or "green roofing. Maybe some visual interest in the main court yard. Considerable space is lost to stairways and you would need additional access for those who are older or have limited mobility, but I must say the stairs are lovely, albiet a little steep in one case. I am assuming they are designed for outdoor lecture space as well and given the hazard of wet, concrete stairs, you might want to consider a cover. This design might work well in a partial "earch works" plan. Just a few thoughts.
Excellent Work!
