opening september 4th is the exhibition 'photographs of the work of peter zumthor'
by helene binet at gabrielle ammann // gallery.

for twenty years helene binet has photographed contemporary architecture and co-operated
world-wide with the most renowned architects such as david chipperfield, zaha hadid,
coop himmelblau, daniel libeskind, sauerbruch hutton and peter zumthor. her photographic
style uses light and shade effects, seizes walls and openings, corners and curves, to express
a personal point of view.

the exhibition at gabrielle ammann // gallery concentrates on the architecture of the current
pritzker prize laureate, peter zumthor. hélène binet has co-operated for over 10 years
with peter zumthor and photographically recorded and also artistically interpreted all of
his buildings.

the show will be on view until november 6, 2009.

helene binet's photographs do zumthor no real justice. and didn't zumthor himself say that to experience the buildings, you have to go there yourself?

this is an experience, an experience of the artist, Binet, and her exploration of Zumthor's work. I think these images are mind blowing, a very interesting composition to allow perhaps a new point of view other than what one may first see on their own.
