as part of the 3rd delphic games 10 architecture offices were invited to create
10 small projects on jeju do, an island south of south korea. jeju is known as
honeymoon island.

a new park will be constructed in the gasiri area, along the trail special monuments
were created be it small pavillions or observatories that emphasize the natural area.
the projects had were developed on site during a 4 day workshop that was curated
by young joon kim and all 10 teams were supported by 4 local students.

instead of sticking to one designated site NL architects proposed numerous projects
for many sites. their proposals included a 'love sign' sculpture written in korean,
a viewing platform, a see saw volcano a stair stand, a love slide and a flag hill.

looking at the site, they discovered a large boulder. rather than place objects directly
on it they thought of perhaps transforming it into an observatory.

seesaw volcano

they proposed a manmade volcano with a seesaw at its core, which revolved around
the center. as the seesaw tilts, users can see views over the edge.
