grounding project - field 01 by japanese firm ryuichi ashizawa architects is a
plantation project in the urban area of osaka. the site is owned by a kindergarten
nearby the yodo river in osaka city. previously there was a project planned to build
apartment housing on this site, however the project was cancelled and instead,
a parking lot was built. similarly in the area many old houses are demolished
and parking lots are created.

this project introduces an innovative way to utilize existing parking lots.
ryuichi ashizawa architects suggested creating spaces for children and the community
in the area to produce agricultural products and energy from the artificial ground
upwards named the 'spiral field'.
