skating in the city by metrobox architects
german firm metrobox architects have sent in images of their project 'skating in the city'.
the exhibition pavilion highlighted 25 years of skateboarding at the cologne cathedral
through photographs and also displayed drawings and plans for a new skate plaza alternative
that is due to be completed in 2010. an old shipping container was used for the pavilion.
the facade consisted of 175 used and painted skateboards.

the human riders of five skateboards outfitted with spraypaint cans become the brushes in a pool painting project by d*face, carried out at the california skateboarding pool 'ridiculous'.
crank out handmade skateboards
the geometric graphic influences of the boards pull from drawings by M.C. escher, the penrose triangle and gestalt illusions, creating, besides the drawing, a composition of colors using different wood essences.
