kengo kuma : lucien pellat-finet osaka store

the rounded wood honeycomb structure is covering the store’s walls

in osaka, fashion designer of fine cashmere and knit items lucien pellat-finet
has just opened his third store, designed by japanese architect kengo kuma,
who already worked on his space in tokyo’s roppongi district.

'I wanted to express the tenderness of cashmere fabrics by using an organic pattern
surfaced on the plant in architecture.'

B1F: bar and restaurant, light up by flickering candle lights
1F & 2F spaces are wrapped in vegetable walls in which plywood is applied
3F: VIP space is entwined with a white solid fiber like an ivy

'when I was proposed this building at the best intersection in osaka, I was thrilled
because I will be able to show in the best way a LPF style life from clothes, accessories,
homeware to books and foods. the cafe will be a premiere with a selection of my
favorite meals... it is wonderful to drink some champagne, like that the customers will
shop... kengo kuma adds some beauty with a wonderful architectural design, so impressive
that it will be a landmark for the city.'

Isn't it always love, hate, death and drugs that artists refer to?
o-o   01.12.10
To respond to the idiot, people get famous because they DO things, not sit online complaining about what other people do.
