kunstencentrum Z33, hasselt, belgium
installation by dutch artist krijn de koning for the 2nd triennial of contemporary art,
fashion and design themed super stories.
all of his works deal with the idea of architecture and place, whether it is that
the work itself is an accessible unit that functions as a sort of watch-out platform
on its surrounding, or that the the work intervenes directly on a one-to-one base
with the given space where it is built in.
The outdoor cyan makes the surrounding look more orange (complementar duo), from the brick to the rusty bench (even more) and in paint theory it's a stymulating use of renderings. Inside the cyan is against neutral and this time, in paint theory it's a bold use of renderings. This way gold can be enhanced.

The first 3 pics show this tendancy of cyan turning the next surface into complementary of cyan: usually a shadow appears in grey, but some shadows appear in very light orange.
