berlin based furnishing company system 180 is well known for its cutting-edge steel
tube furniture, which is mounted in a simple and clever way. this basic concept has now
been translated into their largest scale project yet, which encompassed constructing
a temporary front to close the canopied airfield for a total length of 380 meters.
this construction was part of the 'bread & butter' fashion show in berlin central airport tempelhof.

the facade is composed of a modular steel skeleton covered by an inflated tarpaulin.
due to its modular design, it is easy to store and will be reused for upcoming shows.

a total amount of 12, 500 meters of steel tube and 5000 square meters of tarpaulin
was employed for the project.
