tamagawa takashimaya s + c marronnier court is a commercial facility designed
by japanese architect kengo kuma. located in setagaya, tokyo the shopping centre
consists of three floors, each with a garden roof. triangular metal mesh screens border
each of the levels, where over time plants will grow.





This is simple and seem to intelligently achieve the lot's purpose. In the last shot, we see that this mini-mall is surrounded by paved streets, gray sidewalks, and concrete buildings. The design is able to provide a garden space without much ground; the hanging garden provides a sense of relaxation...an oasis within the city.
WOW!! Architecture that actually functions well for the user and not just for the purveyors!! "How Quaint," says the silly design student.

but being new doesn't garantee it to be beautiful....I think a building as big as this one, needs to create a beautiful scenery....is there anybody who ENJOYS the looks of this building??
