l’aquila the earthquake hit region of in italy are to build the ‘church of the resurrection’, as a tribute to the 300 plus victims who lost their lives due to the disaster in 2009. designed by italian firm nothing studio, the tent like structure is constructed with wood wrapped in a translucent membrane of fiberglass.

the concept of the ‘zero impact’ design lies in the use of materials and construction methods, using low technology. the innovation is not in the technology of being applied but in the use of how it is applied.

‘church of the resurrection’ is due to be complete by the end of 2010.
