initial plans illustrating ‘8150 sunset boulevard’ — frank gehry’s highly anticipated mixed-used development on LA’s sunset strip — have been revealed. commissioned by developers townscape partners, the $300 million USD complex comprises five individually distinct structures, distributed around an inviting public square that remains accessible from street level.

carefully positioned circulation routes draw pedestrians toward the center of the scheme, where retail outlets spill onto landscaped terraces populated with trees and vegetation. each building contains a specific program, with two towers — comprising 11 and 15 storeys respectively — providing the majority of the site’s 249 residential units. parking lots are to be positioned below ground.
