established in 1831, deyrolle is one of paris’ few remaining taxidermy institutions. a cabinet of curiosities, the historic space was frequented by the likes of surrealist painter salvador dali, and art brut founder jean dubuffet. the establishment comments ‘that with few exceptions, no animals were killed to be naturalized: non-domestic animal species come from zoos, circuses or farms where they died of old age or illness. they have a traceability and protected species are owned and delivered in accordance with the ‘convention de washington’. for this short occasion, the two different companies, both with longstanding names in their different fields have united for this presentation.
