dutch shipyard damen is looking to help expand the curiosity of yacht buyers with a range of exploration vessels called ‘seaxplorers’. during the development of the yachts, the team had to design the right hull shape for a true expedition vessel with global capabilities – equally effective in ice conditions, tropical conditions, a rough seaway and sometimes even in severe weather. they decided on a double acting hull, which means it has a stern optimized for icebreaking conditions without compromising seagoing behaviors.

the largest ‘seaxplorer’ accommodates up to 30 guests in luxury and comfort. the upper deck main saloon features a long formal dinning table backed by a fireplace to keep guests cozy and warm. it also includes a heated sky deck that connects to the wheelhouse where passengers can follow the expedition’s progress and talk with the captain. loaded with equipment like diving gear and personal submersibles, the yachts can also carry motorcycles, off-road wheels and helicopters in its helideck, which includes a lift system, fuel storage, and maintenance facilities. damen has designed every detail of these ruggedized ‘seaxplorer’ yachts for the most extraordinary adventures anywhere on the planet.
