in collaboration with philips, light collective has developed a creative platform in the form of the lightcollector app, which invites individuals to capture and share visuals – from urban to architectural to natural lighting scenarios – which are compiled into an crowd-sourced image bank.
the development of the app comes from wanting to offer lighting and design professionals a way to speed up their image searching requirements, as well as find stimulus for their work. available for both apple and android, lightcollector is accompanied by a web interface which acts as a continuously changing mood-board of images which can be used for quick visual references. the photos which are uploaded, are categorized under such headings of: architectural, artificial, classic, decorative, effect, functional, light art, or natural which allow users to easily find material which is relevant to their various searches.
