kv studio and peca studio collaborate for aurum cabinets
Karla Vázquez from KV Studio and Caterina Moretti from PECA Studio have collaborated to create the modular and adjustable AURUM Cabinets. The collection poses sculptural works that provides a new sensory experience of mundane objects that inhabit our homes, offering various possibilities of configuration and presentation. Each piece has been crafted using traditional artisan techniques and a curated material palette, with ash and rose morada wood mirroring a tree’s history in its rings, converging with 23-karat gold leaf — symbolic of the sun, mysticism, freedom, and immortality.

artisanal craftsmanship creates the glistening modular forms
With a modular design, the AURUM Cabinets maintain a consistent height but vary in dimensions, ranging from 40 cm to 120 cm. Architects Karla Vázquez and Caterina Moretti have composed the cabinets of sandblasted wood covered with 23-carat gold leaf, incorporating two hinged doors that create visual symmetry or asymmetry against their traditionally wrought cross-shaped legs. Whether standing alone or in a collective arrangement, the cabinets redefine their surroundings through subtle reflections and the interplay of light and shadow against the golden backdrop. Meanwhile, clean lines create visual continuity and blend in with a range of interiors.
