berlin-based architect manfred eccli has developed a human-focusing object which tries to abase external influences to a minimum. ‘helmet’ looks at two basic questions: what is man and which meaning has space? the concept ultimately aims to reduce spatial relationships by hiding exterior surroundings – eliminating external information found within the vast networks of our natural environments. as a result, the enclosure enhances cognitive senses, providing place for retreat and personal reflection.
