What if buildings could adapt to our changing needs?
The Adaptable Building Conference (ABC) is a one-day gathering at Rotterdam’s Nieuwe Instituut, gathering spirits across industries, sectors and disciplines to collectively explore a new generation of architecture that grows and evolves with society without adversely affecting our planet.
With speakers including Marc Koehler (Superlofts), Steven Paynter (Gensler), Paco Bunnik (City of Amsterdam), Daniel Veenboer (Ramboll), Lukas Kauer (Panels by Knauf), and Robert Thiemann (Betterness / Frame), the event examines how adaptable approaches across scales can extend a building’s purpose and therefore lifespan.
Through interactive talks, panels, and discussions, ABC traces how flexibility, circularity, and new business models can reshape the way we design homes, workplaces, and entire cities.
