The Mujassam Watan Urban Sculpture Challenge – Edition #8 invites participants to design sculptures that reflect the cultural identity and aspirations of Saudi Arabia.
Participants are required to select one of two designated sites in the Eastern Province and develop a site- specific proposal that integrates thoughtfully into its surrounding environment.
Salwa Road is a strategic gateway connecting Saudi Arabia with the Gulf region and serves as a major transportation corridor within the Eastern Province.
Tharwa Sea Front is a contemporary waterfront district in Al Khobar, offering a dynamic urban setting that blends coastal landscape with modern development.
The competition seeks innovative, meaningful, and environmentally conscious designs that balance creativity with feasibility, durability, and structural stability. Sculptures should enhance the public realm, respond to Saudi Arabia’s environmental conditions, and contribute positively to the Kingdom’s evolving cultural and architectural landscape.
Three winners will be selected for each site, with the potential for winning designs to be constructed. The competition is open to all, and proposals may be developed individually or by teams of up to four members.
