Blumarine Opens a New Boutique in brera

Blumarine has opened a new boutique in Milan’s creative neighborhood of Brera, with architecture and interior design by NM3 shaping a refined retail interior along Via Fiori Chiari.

Set within an historic street frontage at number 28, the boutique occupies a single level of roughly 170 square meters and presents five large windows to the street. These openings offer a clear view inside, where the architecture establishes a composed sequence of materials and volumes that frame the brand’s collections. The Milan store interprets Blumarine’s aesthetic through NM3’s understated design language.

nm3 shapes interiors of travertine

The interior of Blumarine’s Milan boutique unfolds as a long gallery organized by a continuous travertine structure that runs along one side of the space. Large stone volumes form recessed niches that house the clothing while also shaping the movement through the boutique. The stone carries a soft tonal variation, with pink grout filling its natural pores and introducing a subtle hue across the surface.

This treatment gives the travertine a distinctive presence within the project. As visitors move along the gallery, the alcoves rhythmically punctuate the wall, establishing a measured architectural cadence that keeps the space calm and legible.

Steel and Leather Introduce Contrast

Opposite the stone structure, the interior shifts in tone. A wall of black leather panels curves gently along the length of the boutique, creating a darker backdrop for the collections. Custom rails in satin-finished steel project from these surfaces, supporting garments while maintaining a light visual profile.

Above, linear light fixtures run in a steady line across the ceiling. Their evenly distributed light reinforces the length of the room and allows the material palette to remain the focus. The lighting reads as a quiet architectural layer rather than a decorative gesture.

A Pink Glass Passage Leads to the Fitting Rooms

Toward the rear of the boutique, the atmosphere shifts. A corridor lined with translucent pink glass panels leads to the fitting rooms, introducing a softer and more intimate environment. Light filters through the panels, producing a gentle glow along the passage.

The floor is covered in pink carpeting that continues into the changing areas. Within these rooms, mirrors and vertical light elements multiply reflections across the surfaces, while small travertine stools echo the material language established at the entrance.
