‘hacke und spitze’ retail store for dancing gear by holger jahns
the floor plan of the kreuzberg mezzanine by berlin-based designer holger jahns resembles a ballroom – where the furniture appears to be doing the waltzing. the interior space is configured using minimalist storage cases on tripod stands, showcasing the shop selection of dance shoes.pipes used for the stands are joined using large-scale cast aluminum fittings otherwise typically used for handrails in trams or busses.for this project, a colored, yet translucent nano coating film for all aluminum components is introduced, maintaining the anisotropic shine of the polished metal surfaces – as well as the characteristic cool touch of metal are preserved.
