Tracey Emin: A Second Life
Tracey Emin’s unmade bed returns within a wider account of the artist’s life and work at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. A Second Life traces almost forty years of a practice in which personal experiences become material for artworks, from early installations to her continuing commitment to painting.
Developed in close collaboration with Emin and organized by Tate Modern, the exhibition includes works being shown for the first time. Recent paintings sit within a longer history of using the female body to explore pain and recovery. Across the presentation, making art remains closely connected to the artist’s experiences of survival.
