Ibrahim Mahama: Le Temps des récoltes

Ibrahim Mahama: Le Temps des récoltes

Parts of a former Ghanaian glass-bottle factory enter Fondation Cartier in Le Temps des récoltes, Ibrahim Mahama’s first Paris exhibition. His installation Things Fall Apart reconstructs the industrial building using its original materials, carrying its history into the institution’s Palais-Royal spaces.

Mahama works with associated artists and collectives across the exhibition, extending the exchanges behind his art centers in Tamale. A new version of Parliament of Ghosts uses traditional wooden Ashanti stools to form a parliamentary chamber where visitors can sit. During the exhibition, this space also hosts performances and discussions, bringing collective activity into the installation itself.
