florim introduces sensivenezia, a tactile porcelain stoneware collection that reinterprets classic venetian terrazzo for contemporary architecture.

FLORIM AND MATTEO THUN & PARTNERS EXPAND THE SENSI NARRATIVE

Florim captures the atmosphere of the Venetian lagoon in SensiVenezia, a tactile porcelain stoneware collection. Designed by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana, the series translates the city’s textures and visual memory into surfaces defined by material depth, channeling Carlo Scarpa’s compositional sensitivity references across twelve nuanced tones. Building on the sensory lineage of Sensi and SensiTerre, the collection reinterprets traditional Venetian terrazzo for modern spatial design, bringing historic craftsmanship into contemporary architecture through large-format slabs.

SENSIVENEZIA WEAVES MATERIAL culture AND SPATIAL PERCEPTION

Marking a new chapter in the ongoing partnership between the brand and architects Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana, SensiVenezia explores the relationship between material, color, and space. Rooted in Italy’s landscapes and material culture, the collaboration pairs technical precision with regional heritage to translate Venetian craftsmanship into refined ceramic surfaces. Across the entire Sensi ecosystem, sensory experience serves as the foundational principle, blending memory, craft, and technology into a unified architectural language.

CHROMATIC PORTRAIT OF VENICE CRAFTED FOR CONTEMPORARY SPACES

The SensiVenezia collection features a palette of twelve distinct colors named after iconic Venetian sites, including Arsenale, Fenice, Rialto, and Giudecca. Drawing from the city’s architecture, canals, and surrounding lagoon, these earthy tones are offered in two distinct surface finishes: a uniform matte that creates visual continuity, and a soft finish that enhances tactile depth with subtle marble and glass highlights.

Designed for residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces, the porcelain stoneware collection comes in 9 mm and 20 mm thicknesses, with modular sizes and large-format slabs up to 120×120 cm. These large formats minimize joint lines to create continuous, enveloping surfaces that highlight the graphic rhythm of Venetian terrazzo. Completing the range is Scacchiera, a 30×30 cm mesh-mounted decorative element whose geometric layout forms a textile-like pattern. Underneath, a porphyry-effect body incorporates fine, medium, and large aggregates with subtle opalescent points that catch the light, adding material depth echoing time-worn stone.
