filippo taidelli architetto: off the grid removable structures

 

 

situated within a protected natural area at the river of liscia, the proposal by milan-based filippo taidelli architetto implements a plan for new structures and facilities to attract tourism and recreation on the sardinian coast. the project creates the need to confront and resolve the environmental limits of the area through energetically self-sufficient architecture that harmoniously integrates itself into the existing landscapes. the concept branches at three different scales – a master plan, building and module – responding to the contextual surroundings by dividing pedestrian, vehicular and bicycle zones to reduce the visual impact of the new development within the exterior fabric of the sites. the design principle responds to the need for maximum flexibility and simplicity in the assembly process, proposing a guarantee that maximizes resistance to the coastal aggressive climate by making use of traditional local construction materials.

 

winning the first prize in the ‘coastal architecture project for seaside facilities’ by the regione autonoma della sardegna, a 1:1 scale fully active module was built to test its potential and effectiveness at the ‘rimini international exhibition of outdoor sun in 2011’.
