taking the stage at the outdoor friedrichshafen fair, BMW has introduced their concept active tourer outdoor– demonstrating just how the interior designs of the premium compact segment can be cleverly utilized for sport and leisure purposes. combining sporting aesthetics and style with hybrid drive technology, the electric plug-in system utilizes a transversely mounted 1.5-litre front-wheel drive combustion engine for extended range and optimum torque delivery. as a result, the hatch can accelerate from 0-100km/h in under 8 seconds with a total system output of over 190 horsepower. in all-electric mode, the hatch can achieve 30 kilometers (approx. 20 miles) of range before needing to be recharged on a standard 220V outlet.
