with the rise of 3D printing and additive manufacturing techniques, it seems that nearly everything is being printed in this manner these days. from a prosthetic duck foot, to the interior of a house, the technology is picking up momentum, effectively shaping future of manufacturing and the business model that goes along with it. openreflex, the open-source 3D printed analog camera by designer leo marius falls under a similar umbrella for the production of consumer tech devices. conceived with a focusing mirror viewfinder and a finger activated mechanic shutter, the concept ( supplied as an open-source blue print on shapeways) is compatible with any photographic lens when paired with the included custom mount ring, and works with 35mm film. all the components can easily be printed on recent ABS 3d-printing systems without needing to use support material. all individual parts come separate ( film receiver, shutter and viewfinder ) to simplify builds and modifications.
