lab istanbul: droop

the ‘droop’ line of hangers by lab::istanbul

‘droop’, the work of istanbul-based design studio lab::istanbul, adopts an unconventional, modular approach to hangers and clothing racks. mountable on either walls or ceilings, the metal pieces come in a range of shapes that optimize their use for various day to day needs. ‘u’-shaped curves provide a natural place to store handbags or umbrellas, while rounded sections  prevent jackets and hoods from sliding off.

produced in red, white, and black, ‘droop’ is designed as both a ceiling line, in which pieces vary between 100-180cm (39 – 71in) in height, and a series for walls.

the modular nature of the line permits the combination of different pieces to best fit the user’s needs

the ceiling line adopts the same technique of varying the end pieces of the posts, but are designed to hang from the ceiling
