designboom was recently at art paris 2011, where we had to opportunity to check out french designer benjamin graindorge’s latest work presented by ymer&malta.
‘hiddenskin’, a seating unit with an infinite number of possibilities, was presented for the first time at the fair. a play on form, material, contrast and priori aesthetics, the geometric objects alternate between open and closed volumes ranging in size and shape.

designer benjamin graindorge says:
‘and then, you quickly realize that hiddenskin proposes a second, sensual and primitive perusal. by getting closer and touching it, an ultra-natural object is discovered; its wood, leather and hyper materiality is disconcerting, highlighting the materials. where only touch is capable of perceiving its reality.’
