‘frame book’ – with a simple touch, one can multitask and navigate through multiple open windows

the ‘frame book’ concept by korean designers seok ho hwang, jung geun ahn and sang hyuck lee, is a shortlisted entry among over 3000 participants from our recent designboom competition ‘a life with future computing‘, organized in collaboration with FUJITSU.

designer’s own words: ‘multitasking is not something which is possible on a tablet PC, forcing users to continuously repeat the action of pressing the home key to search and select in order to work on another open window. notebooks allow for a kind of multitasking, but still, users are limited only to one task as they are occupied by having to adjust the size of the other open windows or put them in a working line in order to use them later. ‘frame book’ allows users to work on numerous open windows simply by enlarging various window layers accordingly through the means of a touch pad. here, gesture recognizing sensors, located on the sides of the frame, enable one to easily navigate through open frames through the swift movement of a finger.’
