taiwanese ystudio has infused life into a variety of discarded analogue photographic devices and flashes by transforming them into table, floor and wall lamps. rather than repairing each camera and its mechanical inner workings, the original components of the camera housings are redesigned, with new handcrafted metal bases and structures added to each piece. from double reflex to graflex cameras, the lighting artifacts are ‘reborn’ for 21st century application, maintaining their aged patina from years of wear and tear.
