piergil fourquie: cahute table lamp

during paris design week 2011 french designer piergil fourquié exhibited ‘cahute’ table lamp at galerie gosserez. versatility plays a large role in both the function and the esthetic of the form. on the bottom of the lamp are magnets which then attach themselves to the metal surfaces, whether it be on the base, top, or bottom. each placement changes the way the light emanates from the bulb, thus changing how it reacts both with the structure itself and its environment. its light frame also makes it easily transportable, making it even easier to manipulate the light. the satin stitched felt top is removable, changing the character of the table once again.
